Team Transport & Logistics recently offered employees the opportunity to participate in a Corporate Experience Day at the RSPCA Queensland Animal Care Campus at Wacol. This was an emotional day filled with team-building activities that helped to educate our team on the importance of good animal welfare and the incredible work the RSPCA Queensland does.
Upon arrival at the Animal Care Campus, our team were greeted by enthusiastic and knowledgeable RSPCA Queensland staff and volunteers who provided a brief introduction about the history of the campus, its purpose, and various operations. Our team then embarked on a behind the scenes tour of the campus where they were able to observe and learn about the countless animals that had been rescued and were being rehabilitated.
‘The whole day was so eye-opening, I can’t believe how many animals were there in the background, being rehabilitated.’ – Troy Nankervis, Container Operations Manager
The Group participated in the daily program which included feeding through enrichment, cleaning the enclosures, and caring for the animals. This experience gave our team members the opportunity to not only bond and work together but also appreciate the kind of work that the staff and volunteers of RSPCA Queensland do day in, day out. One of the highlight activities of the day was a team challenge which involved creating dog toys!
‘I was a bit overwhelmed honestly because they do so many wonderful things- especially the number of volunteers, blew my mind.’ – Jessica shared when she returned to the office.
Our team learned that RSPCA Queensland requires approximately $50 million per year to operate. Receiving only four percent funding from the government, they rely heavily on donations from the public, and their charity partners.
Team Transport & Logistics held an inhouse fundraiser and are honoured to have presented a donation of $430.00 to RSPCA Queensland. We are also pleased to offer safe and reliable transport solutions for RSPCA Queensland to help with the delivery of crucial supplies and equipment for animals in need when called upon.
